It did not sound to me like anyone DQed the entry at all. A 2 is not a DQ score a 1 is a DQ score. The judge gave it a 2 because he felt it was not completly cooked. The OP said all of the rest of the scores were 8's and 9's. That would mean the 2 tould have been thrown out anyway so it really did not effect his score as negativly as you would think as it was not DQed.
Speaking from over 30 years in the meat industry fi I think a piece of chicken is under cooked I will give it a 2 in a heart beat. I don't care how perfectly done the cook thinks it is. If you have ever been sick becaues of eating under cooked chicken you would know what I'm talking about. It's nothing to mess around with.
