I have an older fec,(before the IQ4 controller)and fried 2 gaskets early on. The secret to cooking chicken is a CLEAN grease ramp and trough. Double foil the the ramp and bottom of the cooker. Then after you have cooked butts, brisket, peel the grease laden foil off, ramp up the heat and leter rip on the chicken.
