As I have stated before, When you watch any of the cooking shows on tv even those judges, who have a life time of training, can't totaly agree on what they all like. How in the world do you think you can get anyone else to agree that you deserve all 9's. Judging is and always will be subjective. How in the world can you even think you can tell me or teach me what I like for BBQ or anything else. I understand that you spend many hours and much money cooking. That is your choice. If your entry does not cut the mustard don't blame me, I didn't cook it.
As a judge my only job is to judge and score the sample that is on my plate as honestly and fairly as I possibly can. I don't take that job lightly either. When I judge I usually drive at least 400 miles to do so and I judge around 10 contests per year so I really don't care to hear about the expense you put out to cook. You have a chance to get back some of your investment in the form of prize money. I, as a judge, can't recoop ANY of my expense other than taking a little BBQ home to the family and many want to p1ss and moan about that.
Someone on here said it best when they said that maybe cooks should just mark the score they think they deserve on the box and the judges can score accordingly.
I guess what I'm trying to say is the type of talk you are spewing is getting very old and does nothing to advance the KCBS or the sport of BBQ. Just cook your azz off and hope for the best.
