To answer your question Doug, I think a good definition of bbq chicken is basically the starting point for all cuts of meat to be bbq'd; cook low and slow in a smokey environment until done.
The question for me is... and I doubt there will ever be a consensus among competitors... with all of the added steps and all of the new ways of cooking at contests, when does the process become so diluted that the end product can no longer be defined as bbq?
