Ok, the jist of what I was trying to say, is that the Kcbs judging class is a Joke. I was so dissappionted after if finished my certification. I learned nothing but how to spot wrong garnish, and fill out a score card. Plus in recent judging there does seem to be an emphasis on giving out undeserved high scores, so as to not make the teams feel like quitting the whole competition thing. Yeah, if i had an organized bbq thing going, I would want to keep as many people involved as possible. What I was saying about the work and money teams put in, does not mean they need to recieve higher scores, but that the other end of the contest needs to be putting in alot of effort and weight into their decisions as well. The scores are getting all muddled up now. Everyone is getting a 9. And the judges are getting scared to give out any scores less than a six, for fear of getting called out on it. So if everyone is getting 7s, 8s, and 9s, no one looses right, But now there is no contest now. If you don't horribly screw up, it's just luck of the draw, at least in the top 5 at a contest
