You must hate thermostat-controlled smokers, then. Because if a buck worth of butter and a dime's worth of foil doesn't fit the definition of barbecue, then a set-it-and-forget-it oven sure don't. I'd be willing to bet the native Americans who came up with our barabicu didn't object to throwing a little bit of flavor on the meat, though. But then, what did they know about barbecue.
