I agree with the lump, but you've got to pack it like said below. These days, I use pellets with a Stoven, which works really well on a 22-1/2" WSM. Either use the deflector plate that ships with the Stoven or use the water pan (dry with foil), but not both. Biggest problem with the Stoven is the small pellet hopper. It holds about 1-2 hours cook time worth of pellets, but it wouldn't be hard to make an extender.
