Bummer. A couple of years ago, they let me use my smoker with their blessings since it's completely sealed except for the ball valve and the stack. Of course, it cost me several smoked butts, and I had to give several "tours" of my smoker to people who couldn't understand the difference. It probably didn't hurt things that I lived only a couple of blocks from the Fire Department and they could see and smell the smoke from their driveway.

I'd move if I were you. '>) (Smilie thingie goes in here!)

I always cook exactly the same way whether I use my smoker or an oven, as far as temperatures and times go. For smokey taste, maybe use the gas grill and a smoke box with wood or pellets for a couple of hours at the beginning of the cook? Or wood chunks/chips/pellets wrapped in a double foil pouch? Don't forget to poke a hole in the foil!

Good luck.

There's always the MacRib ;>) (That's another smilie thingie here!)
