I understand the entries for prior winners or getting a big name to show, from what I've seen that's expected and is usually disclosed, the former as part of the prize for winning.

What I was getting at is the propriety of giving a few teams free entry in exchange for them to go on the 'net via facebook or other forums to talk up the events. This question had given to a long interesting conversation with no real consensus so I just figured I'd toss it out here to see what others think.
