You are fortunate to have such a devoted team mate. I understand your point. I am on the other end, so to speak, as if I'm not there, my Team Name is not there. So it's not really an issue for me. But I do see where all the other issues can come from.
Johnny does cook comps without Trish. Rod cooks comps without Sherri. Kyle and Steph usually cook together. Salmon...does he even cook anymore? :) (that was a little poke at Rick).

The World of Competition BBQ has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 5 years and the old rules are old. The BOD of KCBS has to acknowledge that they have not kept up with the growth and need to implement new rules for all the issues coming to the table.

New "big money" has changed things and the way the teams perceive where they spend their money. It's not the way it used to be. End of that chapter of the story. A $35,000 pay check for one event is enough to get any teams attention as to how they do things. And I think there will be bigger paychecks in the future.

The future of KCBS is not written on a bar napkin or reviewed by 3 people. It has to be dealt with by people that really understand the potential as well as the pitfalls of the entire organization opportunities.

My hopes are that all of the members of KCBS, not just the cook teams, or judges, or organizers, understand where the organization is. It's something to think about if you are serious about competitive BBQ.
