it always seems weird to me when someone wants something in return for giving to a charity, or a cause. if its a gift, its a gift. as far as how much an individual, organization, or company gives to a charity, thats none of my business. those entities have the responsiblity of making a profit, and profits vary. i don't think i've seen any contests labeled as "charity events". i've seen organizations and individuals pay expenses, and hopefully have extra money to do some good things. without making a profit(at anything), chances are you won't be making any donations to a charity. i think a good business gives back, but only if they can keep the doors open to do it.
