Many of us BBq'ers and Smokers know and use the Minion Method to keep your smoker going steady for hours: Filling your coal pan with unburnt coals and pooring a hot chimney of coal on to so the coals will burn down and light the coals underneath keeping a steady temp for long periods of time.
My question: do unburnt coals adversly effect the flavor of meat because of the smoke that freshly lit coals puts off?
Freshly lit charcoal put off alot of smoke that doesnt have a good smell to it
IS the Minion Methods convience really worth it If you have to sacrafice a little flavor if any??
