Gowan (if I may be so bold to use your first name), While I understand your sentiment it's hard to find the absolute truth (if it's even possible at all) about decisions like this because of how they've come about.
If things are done in executive session, or in a committee that does not have to report back or the committee itself is composed of friends of the BOD member that don't need to be approved by or disclosed to the other BOD members or the membership things like this can and do happen.
I also understand wanting the continued success of KCBS, I think everyone shares that goal but the real questions are at what cost and should this success only benefit the few that are FOBOD (friends of BOD)?
It's my opinion that nothing will kill this thing called KCBS faster than continued self dealing, a perfect example everyone can relate to is just look at what that's done to our government and country so far.
I can't believe that this organization was created low those many years ago just for the benefit of the creators or the following BOD but that's what it seems to have morphed into.
