I LOVE corn nuts and I've enjoyed this post. They are mandatory on every road trip.
I was first introduced to them a grillion years ago, while salmon fishing on Lake Michigan with one of my father's closest friends, George Neiley. George worked for John Deere and was committed to supporting U.S. farmers. We caught a lot of big fish and I miss him!
I've was intrigued by this post and wanted to try my hand at making some corn nuts, but I'm a day behind filling Christmas mail orders and my website has crashed due to "name servers". WHAT ARE name servers? On top of my online biz coming to a screeching halt, I've got 20 pounds of smoked salmon that needs to have skin removed and vacuum-packed, and a husband I can't seem to keep out of the ER.
Sorry to ramble (I'm starting to feel like Stump!) but I was delivering a bunch of product to a really cool specialty store in Ada, MI called Ninth Bridge Market, which used to be called Grand River Grocery. (The Ninth bridge is a covered bridge; I sure as heck don't know what that has to do with food). They were sampling a product called GLADCORN. "A-Maizing Corn Snack" (Clever, eh?). I have eaten THE WHOLE BAG while creating this post. It cost $1.79 for 4 oz.. I'm hooked.
Merry Christmas to all of my forum friends!
