That's a person that should be bared from judging. There are many things that I don't like, and I leave them alone. Judging BBQ is subjective, but to score down just because it's what you wouldn't eat at home, or order in a restaurant is ridiculous. I'm from the pacific north west. Salmon seems to be the mainstay of contests that have an "Everything Butt" category. I don't like salmon at all. However it is a category that I have to judge. I know what good appearance, taste, and texture are. Have I scored salmon low just because I don't like it? Not on your life! I probably have given more 8s & 9s than lower scores like 6s & 7s. It's not about what you like or don't like. It's about being fair and impartial.
