My neighbor trimmed his redbud tree and let me have the wood. Some of these trimmings are 8-10 inches in diameter. The heartwood is reddish pink in color. The logs are heavy for their size.
Has anyone ever used redbud to cooking? This will need to be seasoned before using, but looks like it would be a good cooking hardwood.
