The goody bags in Pittsburg and Laurel were better than most I've ever gotten. I did see posts and pics in some of the early events where each team did get a flat cart load of stuff for the goody bag - whole packages of alum pans, paper towels and other stuff. They also supplied the meat for a steak dinner at both of these events, and many others.
Sam's is putting up $500,000.00!! in prize money. In addition to the cost of having a traveling organizer, folks pick up trash and doing other things people don't see as costs for hosting each event. Now, teams want free meat?? Please. I'm not sure how much more you can expect. This is costing Sam's close to $1,000,000.00 when all is said and done. Like 'em or not, this is a great thing for KCBS and the BBQ community. Give Sam's credit.
