It seems there were conflicts in many regions. But, with more contest being added every year, there are always going to be conflicts and teams need to decide what events they will do every season. Obviously, some are well established and people seek those out each year. With or without Sam's events.

For the Sam's Club events, they had to schedule 30 contest across the US along with the logistics that go along with it. I think they made a conscious decision to select the sites and dates without trying to figure out each regions special conflicts. That would have been a nightmare even attempt and there still would've been conflicts somewhere. Were there conflicts in our region? yes, a lot from what I can tell. We elected to drive further to a different Sam's contest so we could cook a local favorite. I know others that did the same. It's unfortunate it works out this way, but, you'll never make everybody happy, so, put it out there and teams will make their own choices.
Just my thought, maybe not correct.
