Ribs in a cooler question

Is it possible to cook a lot of ribs, store them in a cooler for a few hours and then serve? How long with they stay hot/safe to serve? Has anyone had success with this method? If not, what might you suggest to cook and hold a lot of rbs? Would appreciate any feedback. We need to help out with a large rib cook and have a limited sized smoker. Thank you.
