I think anytime you inject something into a muscle it's going to do better resting overnite to achieve full bennefit, especially if you are trying to achieve some degree of curing. Injecting used in concert with a vacuum tumbler (if avaiable) would be best. I think if it's all getting tossed into chili some of those efforts will be lost in the mix so to say. But you have it all done anyway so you should turn out fine. You'll have some leak out during the resting period, shoot it back in. Catch your drippings during the burn to add to the pot to amp up your flavor profile or save for other stuff. Sorry for the late response.
