I picked up a SS-1 last summer and really like it. I cooks a great product. It does take a little more time to come up to temp and stabilize compared to my BW Fatboy. I help preheat by placing the chimney of charcoal in the cooker while it's stating and it starts the process along. I use a BBQ Guru with a 10CFM fan ( I already had it ) and the cooker runs very well. The bottom rack can run a little hotter than the upper racks, especially when the pit is stabilizing temp after putting on lots of meat. Moving it around is an awkward task. Tilting a 600 pound cooker back on the rear wheels is a little shaky. The SS-2 probably isn't as awkward because it's lighter and shorter.
