Barb, I'm not being a smart a**. Like you, I'm very concerned about the hamburger I buy. Fortunately for me, There are several stores in my area that grind their own beef. One of which has a service meat dept. that grinds fresh several times a day. Depending on the grind, (5-10-20% fat), the employees as well as customers know exactly what trim goes into the grind. NO ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND, and the product is NEVER wrapped and put into a 'grab and go". At closing, any ground beef left in the case is disposed of. Not wrapped and put in the cooler to be presented as fresh the next day. If you have this option available to you, I strongly suggest you try their product. I think you will like it!
