Both are great. I think the Guru is better for "plug and play". It is beyond easy to set up and use right out of the box. The Stoker is a little more techie oriented, but has great features once you figure it all out. I own both and do tend to gravitate toward the Guru for ease of use. When I want to load my pit and run to the office for the day, I pull out the Stoker. I can check data remotely and head home if needed. The newest Guru has some of these features, but not quite to the same level. Just my $.02
