Quote: "This is an unmerited, unwarranted food scare. The reason we’re even here talking about this is somebody came up with a clever way of naming it. Otherwise, this is a 20-year-old product that has not had a safety issue surrounding it at all."

Among my friends and family and even on my local news coverage I've never heard anyone refer to it as a "food scare" or the safety of the product. What has upset many people is that it's not properly labeled. And now its' producers are surprised that people don't want to buy it anymore. They shouldn't be surprised at all.

I think there's a lesson to be learned by other food processing companies and industries. Why not be honest and forthright with consumers and let the free market decide?
