That is kind of funny.
It's a process that produces burger. Are meat producers supposed to start describing every process that they employ? If so, why? The meat is meat, and it's safe. If it's that big a worry, grind your own, but a few people's squeamishness shouldn't raise the price for the rest of us.
And that same ammonia is used in lots and lots of foods, so better clean out the pantry.
