I wish I had read other posts prior to my own writing however:
I wish I could agree however I believe the economy will have a minor affect in all this because advertising dollars will find its place. I believe the dreamers of success will rise then fall because of failure to meet expected successes.
Popularity started with the best of the best as judges by selective criteria contributed to KCBS and MIM. MIM screwed up and decided to remove themselves from anything that did not promote Memphis In May and now we have the failing MBN.
TV enters.... with less than the best contestants BUT......good for whatever the producers decided was best for their purpose to draw advertisers. We decided to NOT send in audition tapes for these silly programs because we feel that, as a good friend says.....GOOD IS GOOD.... If they want us I am easy to find. I do not have a restaurant or spice line to market. We do not have a reason to chase advertising or fame. We just want to make a good product that wins and makes people happy.
We cook to win and we cook to please our catering clients.....I am not going to cook and create drama....I am not going to cook and slap my wife around and he held as a hero....I am not going to cook and talk smack about others....and I sure as the world am not going to cook to please anyone else other than judges. I believe the number of cook teams will fall because they do not know how to handle the pressure or not willing to learn how to cook to please anyone other than judges....maybe I said enough.....
