Thanks for the reply, Ray. Had a chance to meet you in person a couple of times (Clovis and Reno a few years ago) and you're gracious as always.
What I'm doing is comparing your book to Andy and Chris' excellent book, "Wicked Good Barbeque", probably the most impressive step by step comp manual I've ever seen (and we're going to do their brisket recipe as our turn-in as our practice sessions have been awesomely delicious). In that fine book, they name a few commercial products. As an author, do you have to get permission to use commercial products by name or else risk copyright infringement? I would think that such permission would be easy to get as I bet that would start an ordering run on their products, but then I'm not an author so I'm only speculating here.
Anyway, thanks again, and yeah, I trust your palette. I bet your homemade recipes are awful close to the winning commercial rubs and sauces!
P.S. Got an idea for you that may boost your sales: a few authors nowadays are offering an incentive to buy their book by including a few free updates/additional material to be included if purchased via Kindle or Nook. That way we can be sure we are getting your current winning recipes and turn around and beat ya with them next week! ;-)
