When we looked at the butts in the cryovac, the money muscle looked huge. However when we opened the butts up, it wasn't very big at all, and as someone already said, was kind of an odd cut for a standard butt. The weight was fine, just butchered a little bit different. Cutting it off allowed us to time it much better, and also still use the other part of the butt somewhat. So yes, I would prefer to do that at a kcbs contest, but I understand why it is against the rules and support that rule.
