Not a surprise at all. I'm not a regular comp cooker,but I use the same cooking method for both comp and family cooking. Both get pumped, I just use a different rub for comp vs. family cooking. Comp gets the kicked up rub, 1 part each garlic,fresh ground black pepper, and kosher salt. Family gets SMGH. Of course the meat gets brushed first with yellow mustard or wooster or Woodys (depending on cooking family or comp).........cheers.....Ed
