I've got a smoker with a side box and have been having a lot of fun with it over the last couple of years. But I'd like to be able to get the inside temperature up a bit. When I close the lid I see and feel a lot of smoke / heat coming out around it. I was wondering if I put a bead of sealant around the edge to make a better seal if that would help things.
Is there a sealant that is food safe and can sustain a temperature over 500º (not that I'm going to cook at that temperature)?
