There's your problem. What kind of software are they using? Excel? Access? Any database program or spreadsheet should EASILY keep track of numbers to the ten-thousandth decimal point. If what you say is true, and I don't doubt you in the slightest, what they have perpetrated in their software is what is called "round-off error" by not keeping enough "significant figures" throughout their calculations. Back in my college days in engineering, I would've flunked out if I kept handing in lab work with this kind of mistake.
See my link below on roundoff error. If this is a real problem in the KCBS software, then teams who lost by 0.0001 may have a VERY legit gripe.
