I have a question for you who know much more about this topic than I do.
As part of the Sam's Series contestants are given a chance to enter the Tyson Wing Contest. Entering can be done online or at the contest. The online form has required fields that call for very specific info including date of birth. And at the bottom of the form it appears that one of the conditions of entering is that you check a box that says, "I have read and agree to the Official Rules of the TysonŽ Best Wing on the Planet and agree to release my personal information, photos and recipes to TysonŽ and KCBS to be used in marketing/promotional materials as agreed upon in the Official Rules.*"
I can't see any reason that my date of birth is needed. Might understand providing the year of birth to check for legal age. But providing this information with no privacy agreement (and on an unsecured site) seems to be bad business to me. Do I have a legitimate concern or I am just being paranoid?
BTW I am attacked daily by fraudulent spam. All the way from providing 500 sandwiches for someone's birthday, winning $5,000,000 if I will just provide personal info to emails with questionable links. This tends to make me be very cautious when providing info online on the internet.
Words of wisdom please. Thanks in advance. JJ
