Prize Money Breakdown

I suppose the answer to this question will depend greatly on how often you compete and how often you win. I was looking at the prize money breakdown for the Cass County contest on 8/10 - 8/11 in Weeping Water, Ne. $10,000 total with somewhat lower Grand and Reserve payouts, but fairly high payouts for top 10, and in particular top 5. Being part time, and this year very very part time, I really like the concept with maybe a little tweaking. Was just curious what teams thought of this type of prize money breakdown. I'm thinking for the most part if you win or come in second the money should still work out about the same once you figure in your top 10 money. Obviously there are exceptions, I remember one team winning a Grand with around 200 teams competing, had a 3rd place call and that was it....finished 11th in the other 3 categories and won. I'm thinking that is more the exception than the rule. But if you only hit in one category you still can acutally leave with some money. By the way, quick plug for this contest, organizer & Cass County are really working hard to grow this into the premier contest in Nebraska.
