I certainly hope that the organizer was consulted on this and was in agreement with the decision of the Rep.

To the best of my knowledge, the Rep is brought in to oversee the rules stipulated by the KCBS. Those rules are posted in the rulebook and I'm sure that there are approved addendum. If they are doing anything else by their own initiative, it should be agreed to by the organizer.

I agree wholeheartedly that the answer is to be proactive, instructing the judges to not discuss what happened under the tent.

Telling them not to interact with the cooks is a recipe (no pun intended) for further disassociation between the two camps. I don't think that anyone wants that.
