Just to touch on another thing about BBQ for a living. As commented the food bussiness is tough anyway, but BBQ isn't like others, more than tossing pizzas and mixing drinks. Just the things Rick listed are pushing a couple thousand pounds of lifting and that's once. Now times that from cooler to table, lugs to pit, pit back to table, onto serving area, kettles of sauce, lugs of salad.....everything is lifted multiple times throughout the process amounting to 1000's of hot sweaty pounds thru the day. Being the 'not so proud' owner of 7 herniated discs in my back and neck over the years of heavy work I know well the toll it takes over time. Think many times before you jump into what some may think is the good life from what you see on tv or read online. Go work for somebody for awhile, even for free to see if it's all that and then, all the luck there is on ya!
