I assume everyone knows that it is hard work. Many of the people voting probably have restaurant experience. Most have plenty of experience cooking significant amounts of BBQ.
I think that the question was poorly worded and had significant impact on the voting. I can't figure out why everyone seems to want to jump on the bbqforum voters are ignorant to the amount of work involved bandwagon. Adding the qualifier of "make a decent salary" probably had a much larger impact on the numbers than the idea that bbqforum posters are dazzled by shiny objects and think running a restaurant would be easy.
If the question was "Would you quit your job to cook BBQ full time if the opportunity presented itself" is a completely different question and would likely have different results. Adding the qualifier completely changes the questions and obviously impacts the results.
What we can say is that there are several folks who would be better off sticking with BBQ and leaving the surveys and analysis of them to the professionals, some dont seem to understand the difficulty in performing that analysis.
