I always thought that the turn in times were to allow more time for the longer cooks like butts, shoulders and or course brisket. Ribs and chicken are a short cook and that seems to be why they are the first two.
Guess whoever put that in the rules was thinking about the impact on the teams. You know, what ever is best for the teams!
