Seriously? There are great teams reading this right now and chuckling. You know who you are.

Ok, last week, we cooked in a 60+ team contest in Blue Springs against a large percentage of the best teams in the country. Do you honestly think the odds of winning GC at Blue Springs are the same as winning GC in a tiny contest 500 miles from nowhere? Sorry, but they ain't. It's simple math. It's more difficult to beat 59 teams than it is to beat 19 teams. And the number of truly exceptional teams vs. new and novice teams isn't the same. I know teams who just last week cooked in Kirksville, Mo. instead of Blue Springs specifically and admittedly because they had a much better chance of winning there. Great teams traveling to tiny qualifying contests isn't new. Teams were doing it when we started 18 years ago.

There are a couple names for driving way out of the way to compete in a small qualifier - anyone care to say what it's called?
