GG, please don't take this as an attack it is not meant that way. I think this has been and is a healthy debate looking at a decision and it's (I would hope) unintended consequences of destroying KCBS competitors.
While it's true you've not come right out and said the word inferior, in my opinion and it looks like others as well it's been inferred, insinuated and danced around but clear just the same. This could just be the impression one gets when reading things instead of talking in person, no facial expressions or tonal inflections to add "context" to the conversation and not actually the intent.
As for the Royal or any other organization being a 501 (c)(3) so they are a non profit charity and automatically doing good things just because of that designation is far from the reality of the situation. I'm NOT saying the Royal is or isn't one of the best charity organizations out there or that they do or don't spend all the money they take in on the stated goals, only people privy to their books could say that. I can sadly say that I've seen my fair share of "charity" events that were "charity" in name only so a tax designation doesn't mean a whole bunch to me anymore.
What I am saying is that by passing this new rule they could very well be killing off most of the newer/smaller sanctioning bodies who exist because they for whatever reason don't want anything to do with the 800 Lb gorilla that KCBS has become.
Wouldn't one think it'd be much better for that gorilla to figure out why all these people decided to walk away, embrace the competition and instead of trying to stomp their gorilla foot on them (either publicly or behind the scenes) make themselves so good at what they do that these people would rather be KCBS members than start their own organization?
Again, I say this with all due respect and no offense intended or inferred.
