I know this isn't a bbq question, but I think many who frequent this forum have also competed in ICS chili cookoffs. I have tried to find a contest chili forum to discuss this, but if you will humor me for a moment I am looking for some help/guidance.
Is there a set time for preparing red chili or green chili at these ICS events? Any idea on the standard amount of time allowed? I want to enter a local event, but if you only get 1 hour to prep I'm not quite sure I would be able to put forth a good effort. I'm confused by the published schedule that designates a time for "lighting the stoves" and the turn-ins.
I'm going to contact the organizer, but wanted some other impressions from actual cooks vs. the organizer.
