This happened at a comp I just help put together here in Utah. This is my real team name & I am not going to name the team. The head cook was asleep when it happened but he is still responsible for everyone in his camp.
We had several sponsors for this event who put up several thousand dollars to host this event & thank god they were not around when it happened! We were also on the sponsors property were the comp was held & were I work. So you guys who say who cares... I do, the sponsors do, the other teams with families with kids at the comp do, KCBS does & law enforcement does. It just not setting a good example... You wanna blaze up, feel free! Do it on your own time and at your own residence... I don't care!
But when I can smell it from 200 feet away, I care! If I could have found them at the time, they would have been asked to leave. We were able to cover a canceled comp in 10 days, have 25 teams come out with almost $3k in prize money. This kind of crap that can give BBQ a bad name. I am no angel and enjoy my whiskey but it is not illegal.
