Welcome to the Sharp Side, Ray! I've sharpened all of my convex-edged knives in a similar fashon for years. Very simple to keep them sharp. Bark River is a great custom brand (I have several of them), congrats!

When your ready, try the diamond spray on a rough-out split leather strop from Chef Kinves To Go... spooky sharp.
