I don't know if this works on an egg but when I smoke a turkey I use a drip pan to capture the dripping from the turkey. I then take off the fat and use the dripping for my gravy. This make an amazing gravy although it usually needs to be diluted some sine the heat from the coals really concentrates the broth.
On my WSM is line the water pan with foil, partially fill it with some water and white wine and let the drippings fall in.
