Just read that you bought it in 2011. It's probably lost considerable weight, resulting in a huge concentration of flavor (you might not like it), and highly salted.
I bought one; waited 5 months before soaking it for 48 hours and planned on serving it to my family. It was terrible.
Kept some to flavor beans and then gave it the heave ho. Beans weren't happy either.

(Costco has a great smoked & cured country ham. A 13 pounder is about $50.00 delivered.)
