I have butchered and cleaned several different critters here in Missouri, but a feral hog is not on my been there and done that list. It only seemed natural to me that since hogs that have turned wild start growing tusks, that their scent glands became more pronounced as well. I have never seen a wild hog in the woods and I hope I never do. Our Conservation has some strange policies regarding these animals. They encourage people to shoot them if they see them, but they do not encourage hunting them.
