I really am not trying to be mean but non native species brought into NY area is bad. It competes with the natual indigenous
species that belong there. Not just cats, anything. Ferral cats are not a natural species. They are pets and do not belong in any outdoor area where than can colonize and create REAL issues. Here are just a few articles. There are plenty of articles arguing the issue but are not scientific and objective. Just like carp, zebra mussels, eurasion milfoil, ferral hogs, etc, etc, it is a fact, invasive species are a really bif problem, cats are only one and we should not let emotion rule over common sense. Like I said, I like cats, house cats. Turned loose they become ferral cats, not the same animal. My mom, 2 of my kids have cats and I had 2 when the girls were growing up. They NEVER go outside. Really have no fight with you, just a good debate and one that should be shared as it really is a problem.
