If that was the case people would be turning in hamburgers now. There's no rule saying you can't grind your brisket. Give me a break. The 5lb rule just insures that what's being inspected is a butt or shoulder and not some other cut of pork. Turn in all the sausage you want but don't be surprised when the judges give you 2's.
