i'm really starting to sense that a lot of older guys resent the current state of competition bbq. things like- its not as much fun as it used to be, its not about the meat anymore, theres' no social interaction, its too expensive, too many people are winning with candy, its too much about the money, so and so gives all the answers in his class, and on and on. i agree :). on the other hand, people are working a lot harder at winning. the chances of a guy winning anything out of the blue are pretty minimal anymore. with thousands of options in equipment, meat, rubs, sauces, and technology, i think it is turning into a younger mans game. i say break off a seniors division. 50 plus. that would, of course, come with senior benefits. perks like breakfast at dennys and bingo on friday night, along with discount prescriptions at the local pharmacy. i seriously do think a seniors division would be cool. maybe its already been done. oh yeah, and i also blame facebook for everything.
