That sounds like an idea to me. 15 years ago I expressed to Carolyn Wells that I thought the prize money was going create problems sooner or later.
In my posts below I think some misunderstood my thoughts. I think that if things were set up so the pro cooks and judges had to have at least 10 years experience it would make winning tougher because the cooks and the judges would have more bbq knowledge. I never said anything about making it easier to win. Part of the thing the older cooks see and know that the newer ones never will is how much more fun it used to be because they were there years ago. You cannot turn back time and who knows it might not have been as much fun as we remember it being.
