You miss the point, people are not mad about the judges liking something other what the team likes, it about the MEAT. And when you can't taste the meat, then it has become something else. Nobody is saying you can't use sweet, what they are saying is don't make it more about the flavor than about the meat.

According to the dictionary preserved means....Maintain (something) in its original or existing state.
It has been said numerous times here, said by people who have been around since the beginning (like Juggy) who repeatedly say it is a meat contest, not a sauce contest. You are the only one who says it is not.
if you are not cooking this way( with all the parkay, chemical injections, candied like apples) or judging it, do you really understand what people are talking about?
